‘Really difficult’: Tony Mowbray outlines Sunderland’s biggest ‘challenge’ ahead of Swansea City

Tony Mowbray has outlined Sunderland’s biggest ‘challenge’ ahead of this weekend’s trip to Swansea City.

Mowbray stated in his pre-match press conference that Sunderland will need to be ‘organized,’ but admitted that preparing for the game had been difficult due to the weather.
Last time out, the Black Cats ended a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over Norwich City.

Mowbray will be hoping his team can get back to winning ways as they prepare to face Swansea, who are four points lower in the Championship and currently sit in 13th place.

The Sunderland manager has addressed what his players must do to win in Wales, as well as what they have struggled with with in recent weeks.

“We have to be organised and ready for Swans,” Mowbray said.

“They are expensive and it’s a club philosophy, not just with this manager or the last manager. I think the club philosophy is they want to play with the ball.

“The challenge is to be organised, have a game plan as best you can but as I moaned a bit last week with the weather it was really difficult to prepare for the game.

“Today the pitches are under water a little bit with the rain and the bits we did find was only enough to play small-sided ways.

“A lot of video work and we’ll go to Swansea and see how we get on.”

Sunderland need to take this chance against Swansea

Sunderland have a number of winnable games coming up, but a defeat at Swansea this weekend would send them spiraling downward.

Michael Duff’s team has had an up and down season, losing two of their last three games.

The Black Cats must stick to their game plan and hope to capitalize on this opportunity to get Nazariy Rusyn on the scoresheet.

Back-to-back victories could set Sunderland on another winning streak as they face Birmingham, Plymouth, and Huddersfield Town.
