Crystal Palace are getting close to having their creative players back after the injuries to Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.
Crystal Palace will be without creative midfielder Eberechi Eze for the first time in a month as they look for their first league win in three games.
Eze suffered an injury in the win over Manchester United, but he is back in contention for this weekend’s game against a struggling Burnley side.
Eagles manager Roy Hodgson confirmed the midfielder’s return but did not say whether he would start. “He’ll be in the squad,” he told the press ahead of the game. We’ll have to decide whether he can start or if we should just keep him on the bench.”
Michael Olise, a young French forward who signed a new contract with the club in the summer, is also back in training.
Hodgson also admitted that the sports science department was being cautious, but hinted that he might be back sooner rather than later:
He went on to say: “Michael is making good strides, but these sports science people are more careful with him.”They haven’t given him as much freedom as Eze, but he has participated in some training and is looking good. I’m optimistic that he’ll be able to train with the group fully next week.”
The south London club has gone three games without a win, losing to both Newcastle and Tottenham and drawing with Nottingham Forest.
