Sixers Guard Now Ranked All-Star in the NBA

Sixers guard finds himself near the top of “top 25 under 25” rankings.

Tyrese Maxey, a guard for the Philadelphia 76ers, has emerged as an All-Star this season. His performance in the first few months of the season has positioned him as one of the league’s best young talents.

Every year, the experts at HoopsHype compile a list of the top 25 players under the age of 25. This year’s rankings place Maxey in the top five. The Sixers’ budding talent ranks fifth, one position ahead of Rookie of the Year frontrunner Chet Holmgren.

“Maxey has been a huge reason why the 76ers haven’t skipped a beat in 2023-24, sitting at 23-12 and third in the Eastern Conference as we approach the All-Star break, festivities that we fully expect Maxey to take part in for the first time in his career.”

Ja Morant, Tyrese Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, and Luka Doncic all rank ahead of Maxey on this ranking. Scottie Barnes and Paolo Banchero are also among the top ten players.

With James Harden dealt to the Los Angeles Clippers, Maxey began the season as the No. 2 option behind Joel Embiid. He has embraced this opportunity and continues to produce outstanding results. This season, Maxey is averaging 26.1 points per game, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists.

Maxey has consistently performed well for the Sixers, with only a few exceptions. Even when Joel Embiid isn’t in the lineup, he’s stepped up and delivered some impressive performances. Last week, he nearly had a triple-double (35 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists) against the Atlanta Hawks in overtime.

Maxey deserves to be near the top of these rankings as he bids for his first All-Star selection in his young career.
