The summer recruiting surge is officially underway on the Plains, and Auburn fans are already getting plenty to be excited about. As official visits open for the 2027 recruiting cycle, Auburn is wasting no time turning early momentum into tangible results. The Tigers have hit the ground running, stacking positive impressions and capitalizing on a busy stretch of campus visits.
That momentum continued this week with the addition of another talented defensive back, marking yet another win on the recruiting trail. He becomes the fourth prospect to commit since summer visits began in May, a rapid pace that has already reshaped the foundation of Auburn’s 2027 class and pushed the program firmly into the national recruiting conversation.
The newest pledge made his way to campus on May 29 and comes from Byrnes High School in Duncan, South Carolina, a powerhouse program with a reputation for developing college-ready talent. Measuring 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, the rangy cornerback brings an ideal combination of length, athleticism, and physicality that translates well to the SEC level.

Rated as a three-star prospect, he currently ranks as the No. 17 player in South Carolina, the No. 79 cornerback nationally, and the No. 854 overall prospect in the Class of 2027 according to the 247Sports Composite. Those rankings are backed by significant interest across the country, as he collected 27 scholarship offers, including attention from Clemson and Ole Miss.
Aidyn Wiggins announced his commitment on social media, revealing that he chose Auburn over finalists such as LSU, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech. The decision represents a notable recruiting win, especially given the competition involved and the early stage of the cycle.
With Wiggins now on board, Auburn’s 2027 class has grown to 13 verbal commitments and currently sits No. 23 nationally in the composite rankings. While plenty of time remains before signing day, the volume, pace, and quality of early commitments point toward a class with real upside and room to climb as summer recruiting heats up.
