Auburn strengthened its long-term outlook on Monday by adding another key piece to its 2027 recruiting class with a commitment from a highly sought-after offensive tackle. The Tigers beat out SEC rival Kentucky for the pledge after a competitive recruiting battle that also included interest from Indiana, Tennessee, Stanford, North Carolina, Maryland, Duke, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Arizona. The decision was announced publicly following months of growing momentum toward Auburn.
The lineman has Alabama roots, hailing originally from Gadsden, but transferred to Brentwood Academy in Tennessee ahead of his senior season. At 6-foot-6 and weighing between 290 and 320 pounds, he is viewed as one of the more intriguing offensive tackle prospects in the 2027 cycle. National recruiting services place him just outside the top 1,100 overall players, inside the top 100 at his position, and among the top prospects in the state of Tennessee, with some rankings evaluating him even higher.
Auburn’s involvement became a turning point shortly after his move to Brentwood Academy, when the Tigers extended an offer that quickly changed the direction of his recruitment. From that moment on, Auburn surged ahead of the competition and became the clear favorite well before his official announcement.
A longtime Auburn fan, he made multiple visits to campus during the process, including trips in the spring and for Big Cat Weekend. He reportedly visited Auburn six times in total, using each opportunity to deepen relationships with the coaching staff and solidify his comfort level with the program.
With the addition of Rance Brown, Auburn now sits at nine commitments in the 2027 class and has secured three offensive linemen in the group. His pledge helped boost the Tigers’ national standing, moving the class from around 30th into the mid-20s nationally and firmly positioning Auburn among the top 25 recruiting classes in the country.
