The Buffalo Bills made a quiet yet intriguing move, signing veteran wide receiver to a one-year contract, the team announced. While financial details of the deal remain under wraps, the decision underscores Buffalo’s intent to solidify depth at the wide receiver position as they gear up for the 2025 season.
To make room for veteran star on the roster, the Bills released Hal Presley III, an undrafted rookie out of Baylor who had recently joined the team. Presley was viewed as a developmental prospect with upside, but Buffalo opted for a more seasoned option in Wilkerson, whose NFL experience could prove valuable during training camp and preseason.
Wilkerson, 28, is coming off a stint with the Las Vegas Raiders, where he appeared in three games last season, catching two passes for 18 yards and a touchdown. Though his NFL résumé may seem modest, he has shown flashes of red-zone potential. Across his career with the New England Patriots (2020–21) and Raiders (2023–24), Wilkerson has logged six receptions for 60 yards and three touchdowns in nine games (two starts).
While not a splashy signing, Wilkerson adds a layer of depth and experience to a wide receiver room that continues to evolve after key departures in recent seasons. With training camp on the horizon, the veteran will have an opportunity to compete for a roster spot and potentially carve out a role in Buffalo’s offense—or at the very least, offer stability and competition as the Bills finalize their 2025 depth chart.
