With the summer transfer window now shut, every Premier League club was required to submit its 25-man squad list last night. Clubs could register a maximum of 25 players, with at least eight required to qualify as ‘homegrown’.
A homegrown player is defined as someone who has been registered with an English or Welsh club for three full seasons before their 21st birthday. Players aged under 21 (those born on or after January 1, 2007, for the 2026-27 season) do not need to be included in the 25-man squad list, meaning clubs can name additional young players who remain eligible to feature in the Premier League.
Following significant turnover within the playing squad during the summer, Everton head into the new campaign with a smaller senior group than ever before, having submitted a list of just 19 players, including three goalkeepers.
