AC Milan could wait until end of season to complete free transfer for 25-year-old priority target

As his contract at the Vitality Stadium comes to an end, Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly could be set for a shock move to Italy.
The 25-year-old has piqued the interest of a number of Premier League and European clubs after excelling with the south coast club following a £11 million move from Bristol City in the summer of 2019.

Kelly has 125 appearances for the Cherries and 10 England Under-21 caps, playing alongside Eddie Nketiah, Marc Guehi, and Aaron Ramsdale during the Euro Under-21 Championships.

AC Milan to rival Tottenham for Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly

Former Cherries manager Eddie Howe is said to be interested in signing the defender, and Tottenham Hotspur are also known admirers. However, according to CalcioMercato, AC Milan and Juventus are willing to wait until the end of the season to capture Kelly on a free transfer after being put off by Bournemouth’s alleged £26m asking price.

The Sportzone Verdict:

A move to Italy might provide Kelly with an opportunity to thrive at some of the world’s most prestigious clubs and possibly force his way into the England squad for the first time. One thing is certain: it becomes increasingly improbable that he will stay at Bournemouth.
