The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program has added a veteran 5-8 guard to its new class, head coach Kenny Brooks said Sunday.

Dazia Lawrence (pronounced Day-Zha), a graduate transfer from Charlotte, will join the program in 2024-25.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dazia to BBN,” Brooks stated. “She brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the program and will provide a scoring punch.”

Dazia Lawrence, a native of Greenville, North Carolina, played four seasons at Charlotte (2021-24), with 1,170 points, 287 rebounds, 162 assists, and 133 steals, with the majority of her production coming in her junior and senior years.

In another significant game, she produced a double-double with 15 points and a career-high 11 assists against Tulane on January 17, adding four steals and two rebounds.
